The FHS Junior Girls Basketball team attended the 15U Senior Cager Tournament in Yellowknife last weekend.
Lots of pics! What a great trip. It was an overwhelming success. Highlights of the trip included visiting the Prince of Wales Heritage Center, the Snowking Ice Festival and palace, driving on the ice road, touring St Pats High School and dogsledding with the famous Olympic champion Musher is Grant Beck!
We learned a lot about local culture and even learned a bit of the local Dene dialect. We were treated so well by the host school and were the famous “Alberta team”. We played teams from remote fly in communities in the far north such as Fort Good Hope and Cambridge Bay. Of our 5 games we won 4. Losing only the championship game by 1 point in overtime!
Mahsi Cho (Thank you very much) to everyone who made this trip possible!
